Illawarra Fly will close today following fire alerts

Tuesday, 8 January 2013

Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk will heed the severe fire danger warning forecast for today and will close in the interests of safety for visitors and staff.

Authorities have alerted all operators and visitors to be vigilant and to avoid travelling today if possible.  They are encouraging visitors to depart high risk areas including bushed attractions and national parks.  Illawarra Fly will follow safety guidelines and close the Treetop Walk today.  High temperatures and dry, windy conditions have alerted authorities who are asking everyone to be careful.

“Safety of our visitors and staff is paramount” says Annette Noble marketing manager Illawarra Fly “We really don’t want to disappoint people in the area who are planning their visit to The Fly today but we are conscious of the authorities warnings and will close for the day in the interest of safety”.

Visitors with pre-purchased tickets for Tuesday January 8 can redeem these tickets on another day of their choice.

Circus at the Fly is   anticipated to run from this Thursday 10 January – Monday 14 January inclusive (conditions permitting).
