Japan Airlines (JAL) experienced its second Boeing 787 issue in two days this week, when a fire broke out in a battery pack in the aircraft’s belly. It was the airline’s second 787 issue this week and occurred after passengers had exited at Boston Logan. Meanwhile, earlier this week JAL’s Boston to Tokyo nonstop flight was delayed after a fuel leak was found on a different Boeing 787. The leak caused a spill of around 150 litres. The flight was cleared to depart later that day and is now scheduled for a more detailed inspection in Tokyo. |
